This week I had several requests from my family for a dessert that had apples and cinnamon in it.
I made them individual apple crisps! They were very delicious.
Here is the recipe;
3 T. organic butter
2 C. apples thinly sliced
2 T. ground cinnamon
4 T. coconut sugar or Xyla (I used Xyla)
pinch of salt
juice from 1 lemon
1 T. coconut flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease three ramekins with butter.
Melt 1 T. of butter in cast iron skillet. Add the apples and stir to coat in the butter, cover the apples to soften them.
After 8-10 min. sprinkle with 1 T. of cinnamon, 2 T. sugar (coconut or Xyla) a pinch of salt, and lemon juice.
Mix the apples and remove from heat.
In a small dish mix the flour, 2 T. butter, 1 T. cinnamon, and 2 T. of sugar. This will be the topping.
Divide the cooked apples among the ramekins and spoon on the topping.
Bake for 15 min. or until browned on top.
If you try the recipe please let me know how you like it.
Had to get out in God’s creation and see the pretty fall colors that are coming out!
Stopped by Higgins Lake on the way back from visiting Hartwick Pines State Park.
